maine state government joins working together business network


On October 15, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in the Cabinet Room (2nd floor) of the Maine State House in Augusta, Governor John Baldacci held a meeting with key Working Together business partners where he announced that Maine State Government would formally join the group.

The Governor then made it official by signing the Working Together 'pledge' which states:

I certify that Maine State Government commits to the following best employment practices to further the employment of people with disabilities:

  • A commitment to employ individuals with disabilities
  • A commitment to creating a corporate environment that is disability friendly
  • A commitment to a recruiting and hiring process that encourages people with disabilities to apply for posted positions
