Karen Gordon Mills, a venture capitalist from Brunswick who was recently confirmed by the U.S. Senate to lead the Small Business Administration, presented Awards.
Awards given were:
Business Leadership Award - Hannaford Brothers, Inc.
Small Business Leadership Award - Al's Auto of Medway, Maine
Workforce Achievement Award - Bates College
A one-time award was given to Maine Veterans to express deep appreciation of their service and sacrifice. That award was accepted by Sgt. Kirby Touchette on behalf of all veterans and will be housed at Camp Keyes. The second one-time award was presented to Maine Oxy, a welding and industrial gas company in Auburn, to recognize its exemplary employment and support of veterans and their families. Attendees chose from three panel discussions offered at the symposium:

2) Employing our Returning Veterans: Wounds We Can See, Wounds
We Can't See
3) Reaching your Consumers: How to Market your Employment of
People with Disabilities.
